Piet Bervoets and Benno De Goeij are the two halves of the Dutch group Rank 1. They met in 1997 during a party, where they discovered a shared interest in music. They began to collaborate, and in 1999, they released their first track under the name Rank 1. This was the massively successful dance track “Airwave”. Within a year, it had been released in more than 40 different countries around the world and had become the first Dutch track to reach the top of the European Dance Chart. It reached number 25 in the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart and number 10 in the U.K. Singles Chart. Rank 1 released a remixed version, “Breathing Airwave 2003)” in 2003 and a number of other versions have also appeared.

A number of successes followed “Airwave”, including “Such is Life” in 2001, “Life Less Ordinary” in 2007, and “Symfo” in 2009. Rank 1’s “L.E.D There Be Light” was selected as Trance Energy Festival’s anthem for 2009.

In recent years, the pair have divided their time and skills, with Benno concentrating on production and Piet traveling the world to DJ at festivals and joining international tours. Rank 1 still perform together, live, and were the first to play at Sensation. Their popularity drew such a large crowd to Trance Energy that the main arena had to be sealed off once its maximum capacity of 25000 people had been reached.

Rank 1 are one now of the most respected trance groups in Europe. Their formation coincided with an exciting moment for Dutch trance movement, and they found themselves at the center of its spread across the continent. They have played all the most important festivals and gathered a huge following of loyal fans, but they are not done yet. Piet and Benno still see themselves as a work in progress, looking for new ways of making music and of perfecting their act.

Lasgo

Lasgo, from Belgium is a three person group of dance musicians that was formed back in 2000 and is composed of the beautiful Jelle Van Dael (vocals), who joined the group in 2008 after Evi Goffin departed from the group in 2008, Peter Luts and Jeff Martens are the producers. Jelle has a truly one of a kind voice that will astound and amaze most audiences, even those that are not fans of dance music!

In October of 2001 Lasgo won the best national single award on the Belgian TMF Awards and simultaneously that same single sold 25,000 copies and went gold! The groups successes have only grown form there as they released their second single in November of 2001 that was accompanied by a music video. In 2002 Lasgo was nominated for the International Dance Club Hit of the Year, International New Dance Group of the Year, and Best Trance Act. In November of 2002 the won the Smash Hits award for Best Dance Act.

Lasgo has remained in the top of the charts since they formed in 2000, however after 2002 they seemed to take a back burner in the music scene. They remained to be active and creating their music but they were not on the forefront for a while. With the new addition of Jelle Van Dael, its easy to see that they will soon be taking us all by storm again, in the top ten and winning awards! This group is really still just a baby in the music industry and as the thousands of fans on their myspace page and their fan page on myspace will tell you just how good they are! I’m sure that it wont be long before you will find them on the top 10 in the US charts as well.

The Man & Group Behind Dash Berlin

In 2007, a group called Dash Berlin was formed by Pronti & Kalmani and Jeffrey Sutorius. They work closely with trance music genre than the dance music genre. They had their first hit by the end of the following year in 2008. Dash Berlin roots and lineage show they are DJ’s at the core, but also have a huge love for dance music and everything that surrounds it.

Dash Berlin and his success understands and realizes that without the huge support and outpouring from their fans and followers are what makes them so successful. He was born into a family who supported music and his love for music as well. While attending high school he became a huge fan of electronica and he toyed around with tapes and mixing them during this time.

Dash begin to mix and produce his own tapes and his style was born from these mixes and productions. He started performing eveywhere he could, in shopping malls to wharehouse parties and sometimes played long hours. This is also the time he felt he should put the word Berlin into his stage name as a tribute to the many individuals he has witnessed dancing on the very streets of Europe.

The year 2006 saw Dash team up with some very close friends and acquaintances by the name of Molijn & Kalberg who came into the record shop he worked out frequently. Dash has been heard to say that these two friends are at the core of his productions. He claims that they still teach him something new every day.

Dash Berlin has released tracks and albums since becoming a well-known sensation and continues to work to bring exciting new styles and sounds to an already huge market of trance music. Their huge database of fans continue to wait breathlessly to see what Dash Berlin has in store for them next.

The Crossover King Ferry Corsten

Feeey Corsten was born in 1973 in the Netherlands. He produces trance music and is a well known DJ and loves to remix. Corstens Countdown is a radio show that is hosted weekly by Corsten and he performs avidly at many music venues the world over. He was voted as DJ Magazine’s number seven in their yearly listing of the top 100 DJ’s. Starting small time and working his way into the big time present music venues you will see him in, he has gained a very large group of followers and fans and that group continues to grow.

He produced his first record at the tender age of 16, but did not really start performing as extensively as he does of present day until he was in his late twenties. He released a record with a few friends and it won him his very first award in early 90’s. He went to school to study to become to be an electrical engineer and after he completed it, went on to further his education in the field.

He continued to be very interested in the trance scene as a whole and the music especially. He started to released singles of his own and put together amazing compilations of dance songs and music and awarded him platinum status in the UK. He has since won many awards for projects and performances. He has worked with many other famous trance and dance music artists and have had his most fun with remixing many of their songs.

He developed his own music label known as Flashover Recordings and in 2006 released the album L.E.F. He has also made many videos in support of his tracks and has earned him many titles and awards as well. He went live globally in 2007 on two different well known satellite radio stations and on Direct TV. His style and sound of music is what he considers a bit of everything from electro house, trance and even techno.

The Man Behind Chicane

Nicholas Bracegirdle is the man behind the British electronica dance music sensation named Chicane. He is a musician and composer and is even a record producer as well. His hit single, “Offshore” made him an overnight wonder. This song regarded as a Ibiza dance anthem and has spun off dance music versions of the hit as well.

He is very popular with the UK and Australia music charts and other countries as well. His music can be heard through many dance club and music gathering venues and he has grown a very large number of fans that love his music styles and sounds. He has worked in collaborations with many famous singers such as Vanessa St. Janrs and many well known producers in the music business.

He has had many music projects and compilations since he began his road to fame and success. Every since he started his career at a very young age, which he trained extensively in classical guitar and piano, he has had an interest for everything outside the music norm He was working on music sounds and styles and was in the recording studio doing so at the tender age of 12.

He eventually down the line developed is own brand of music label called Modena Records.He has worked with many musicians and bands through his own projects and projects of others. He has been drawn his whole life to the music and sounds that are Ibiza derived. He often vacationed as a young boy in Ibiza and he contributes this to his love for the music sound and style he produces.

The Euro Trance Sensation Sash!

Sascha Lappessen was born in June of 1970. The group Sash! was started by Sascha Lappesse, Thomas “Alisson” Ludke and a many by the name of Ralf Kappmeier. In 1995 these three individuals began the German DJ team whom are also producers. Only a year earlier the three was performing as a group known as Careca and was vaguely known by their song “Indian Rave”. The year 1996 saw them through to their hit sensation and release of the song “Its My Life”.

Sabine Ohmes was the singer for Sash! in 1997 and the groups biggest break came under a song known as “the big break”. Topping the UK music charts in the glorious number two spot and going on to hold a spot in the number ten in five different countries and reached a prestigious spot in the top 20 in seven different countries as well.

They have since then released many chart topping singles and albums and have broke many chart topping records and releases. They have reached unprecedented heights in topping the music charts around the world and have extensively worked in collaboration with many other well known music groups and artists on projects both of their own and of artists.

Their sound and style has gathered a huge number of fans and followers and they are still hard at work as of present. They have released many records under the music label Hard2Beat and specialize in the Euro trance genre. The group has seen 18 million of their albums sold globally and have accepted over 65 awards that include both Gold and Platinum. The group has performed and toured extensively throughout the world and their music is regularly played and heard throughout every popular dance club around the world. The group does not look as if they will be slowing down any time soon and continues to have a heavy fan base that is dedicated to the group and all its members.

The Amazing Duo Blank & Jones

The amazing duo that many know as Blank & Jones is a trance music due bases out of Cologne, Germany. It consists of only two men, Jan Pieter Black who was born in 1971 and Rene Runge born in 1968. Rene Runge also goes by the name of DJ Jaspa Jones. Their producer is Andy Kaufhold who was born in 1969. Their first single was released in 1997 and since that time they have produced and released eleven more albums and a little over 16 singles as well.

The trance production team is actively producing and performing as of present day and have worked with record labels Kontor Records, WEA Records, Edel Music and EMI. Their first singles was compiled on a CD and a DVD was released as a compliment to the CD. For the fans and followers of the duo, they could not have been more happier.

The duo’s success is due mostly to their extensive club appearances, radio show appearances and performances. The also perform live during events like love-Parade, StreetParade and the ever so popular gathering Mayday. They also have many other music venuues and collaborations with other artists, but rely mainly on what they have developed and put together as a due to see them through their music performances.

You can also find Blank and Jones performing live at many annual festivals and raves across Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and Russia. And have traveled extensively to other countries to perform as well. The duo’s latest single came in the year 2008 from their latest albm and continues to work on and produce many more music sensations in the future.

The Sensational DJ 4strings

The entertainer and DJ that goes by the name of 4Strings is unique as is the music he plays. There is a new DJ evolving this day and time and he fits in perfectly. He has developed a new style of music and has fans all over the world. His music always gives his audience and fans something new to look forward to every time they perform or release tracks. Dj 4Strings can be seen performing in many music venues, music dance clubs and festivals that are held annually.

They are particularly good with bringing new fans and followers to the dance music table. 4Strings looks as producing music in an untamed manner and strive to keep themselves free to play with sounds and styles of music. They look at music as a way to express themselves more readily than just making tracks from existing sounds and styles of music they have already incorporated into past tracks.

In the year 2002, they ventured outside the norm with testing new sounds through their trance music. Throughout the years since 2002, they have won many awards both locally and globally as well. They have had numerous hit songs and the list is extensive. They have released amazing hits one after the other and have released them under the record labels Liquid and Nebula.

They have been actively performing and preparing to release a 4th album and are presently working to release it through other genres of music other than trance. They are also looking to release it in different languages as well. This DJ duo is a sensation and has performed in many clubs, dance venues and festivals around the globe. They are a group to keep a definite eye on, as many big projects are planned for the near future.

ATB (Andre Tanneberger) – The Electronic Music World Sensation

Andre Tanneberger is a DJ, musician and even producer of music that is known as electronic dance. He was born in 1973 and started a solo project that was known as ATB after he has begun his music pathway with a group known as Sequential One. As leader of the group, Andre stayed with them for nine years beginning in 1993 until 20002 and did not break away into his own solo act until 1998. Many individuals came to recognize and love the new style of dance music that came from this seasoned dance music artist. His productions of albums, tracks and even video, showcases some of the finest works from Andre, as it revolutionized electronic dance music and brought to the table some new sounds and styles.

He started turning out tracks and albums which found a huge audience that welcomed him and his style of music with open arms. In 1999, he had made an album that had made the topped the music charts in the UK. On this album he had discovered a guitar rift that he became well known for. This sound was not purposefully produced and was on accident that Andre came across the sound when he was playing around with a producing deck he had just got that was new.

During these years surrounding his new found fame, ATB continued down a path of change and every album he cut, brought new and interesting sounds and styles. He has releases many albums over the years and continues to do so even up to present day. As his albums progressed, he began to use more vocals with the sounds and styles of music he produces. And he has worked with many famous singers and vocalists such as Roberta Carter, Heather Nova and more.

Andre Tanneberger began his music career in Germany, but has traveled extensively all over the world with his performances. His specialty is electronic dance music and he continues to have just as much passion for this particular style of music and still does today. Andre in 2003, even released a DVD featuring is released hit, “Addicted to Music” which was highly welcomed by his many followers and fans. The DVD features all his past videos and a documentary of his career works and many photographs of the famous musician, DJ and producer.

Dutch Trance Producer And DJ Armin Van Buuren

The dutch trance producer and DJ that is known as Armin van Buuren was born in 1976 and when he finished high school in the mid 90’s he was well on his way to study law. It was then that he discovered his love for music and it started to open doors for him that he had not accounted for. He started to DJ at a club by the name of Nexus and that is when his music career really started to climb to a higher status. For the time being, he had decided to put his studies on hold to make the most out of a music career, but he did end in completion of his degree.

Armin has up to a point always worked alone during his music career, but with the third release of an album in 2008, he began work in collaboration with Benno de Goeij, leader of Rank 1. In September of 2008, he won the title and award of “Best Trance DJ” and was up against other famous and well known trance music DJ’s, producers and musician such as Tiesto and others.

He has worked with many trance, progressive and techno music artists and have often worked in close relation with them. A vacation to the island of Crete led him to met his future wife Erika van Thiel and they married in September 2009. He has seen the world with global tours as well as local. Armin and his wife Erika is both from the Netherlands and it is quite common to see him performing in front of sold out crowds of up to 20,000 people in his home turf.

It is also quite common to see him performing at huge summer festivals located around the world and when in the UK he is a regular a club by the name of Passion. He has often been heard saying that fans and the public is what makes or breaks a DJ. The role of a DJ is to feel the crowd, work the crowd and keep the crowd happy and nobody should know that better than DJ Armin van Buuren.
